Premium Custom Van Wraps in Hull
Completely transform your commercial fleet with high-quality, full-colour vehicle wraps. Using premium 3M and Avery Dennison vinyl, our wraps act as a second skin—protecting your factory paint while turning your van into a high-impact mobile billboard.
Design Elements That Drive Results
Effective vehicle wrap design prioritizes clarity over complexity. Your business name, key services, and contact information should be readable from a distance using high-contrast colors that stand out in traffic. A clean layout with strategic imagery ensures passersby can absorb your message in seconds, whether your vehicle is parked or moving through busy streets.
Professional installation matters just as much as design quality. Poorly applied wraps with bubbles or misaligned graphics reflect negatively on your brand, while expert craftsmanship creates a seamless finish that protects your investment and maintains visual appeal for years.
Maximizing Your Investment
Track your wrap’s effectiveness by incorporating QR codes or dedicated phone numbers that measure how many customers find you through your mobile branding. These insights help refine your marketing strategy and demonstrate real return on investment. Partnering with other local businesses to feature each other’s wrapped vehicles at events or in social posts can expand reach while building valuable connections that boost local branding through the community engagement.
How much does a van wrap or van signage cost in Hull?
The cost depends on the size of your van and the level of coverage. At Matchdesigns, our pricing typically breaks down into three categories:
Van Signwriting & Decals: £99 – £500. This includes cut vinyl lettering, logos, and contact details applied to the doors and rear panels.
Partial Van Wraps: £500 – £1,500. This covers up to half of the van (usually the rear sides and back doors) mixed with cut vinyl graphics.
Full Van Wraps: £1,500 – £3,000+. This involves wrapping the entire exterior of the vehicle in premium printed or colour-change vinyl.

What is the difference between van decals and a full van wrap?
Van decals (often called vehicle graphics or signwriting) involve applying individual vinyl stickers—like your company logo, phone number, and services—directly onto the factory paintwork. A full van wrap completely covers every exterior painted panel of the van in large sheets of vinyl, acting as a second skin that entirely transforms the colour and design of the vehicle.
How long do van graphics and vehicle wraps last?
When professionally installed and properly maintained, high-quality van wraps and vinyl graphics typically last between 5 and 7 years. We use premium vinyl brands that are designed to withstand UV rays, weather, and regular road wear.
Will a vinyl wrap damage my van’s paintwork?
No, a professional vehicle wrap will actually protect your factory paintwork from minor stone chips, scratches, and UV fading. When it is time to upgrade your fleet or sell the van, the vinyl can be safely removed by a professional, revealing the perfectly preserved original paint underneath. (Note: This applies to vehicles with original factory paint. Pre-existing damage or poor-quality aftermarket resprays may peel upon removal).
How long does it take to wrap or signwrite a commercial van?
Simple van signwriting and cut-vinyl decals can usually be designed, printed, and installed within 1 to 2 days. A full van wrap requires more extensive preparation, precise panel alignment, and curing time, which typically takes 3 to 5 days from drop-off to collection at our Hull studio.
Do I need to tell the DVLA or my insurance company if I wrap my van?
If you are getting a full van wrap that completely changes the primary colour of the vehicle, you are legally required to notify the DVLA and update your V5C logbook. If you are only applying van decals, partial graphics, or signwriting that leaves the original colour visible, you do not need to notify the DVLA. However, you should always inform your commercial vehicle insurer about any signage or wraps, as it is classed as a vehicle modification.
Does signwriting or wrapping my van affect my insurance?
Yes, any form of van signwriting, decals, or vehicle wrapping is classified as a "modification" by UK insurance providers. You must inform your insurer before having the work done. While some insurers may slightly increase your premium because the van stands out, others may lower it, as brightly branded vans are statistically less likely to be stolen and are driven more carefully.
Can van wraps be removed at the end of my lease?
Yes. If you lease your commercial vehicles, returning them in their original condition is crucial to avoid penalty fees. Both cut-vinyl signwriting and full vehicle wraps are fully removable. We safely heat and peel the vinyl away, leaving your van’s original factory paint exactly as it was the day the wrap was applied.
How do I wash and maintain a wrapped van?
To get the longest lifespan out of your van wrap, we recommend hand-washing the vehicle with a non-abrasive sponge and a mild, wax-free car shampoo. You should avoid automated mechanical car washes with heavy spinning brushes, as these can lift the edges of the vinyl or cause surface scratches. If you use a pressure washer, keep the nozzle at least 30cm away from the van and avoid spraying directly at the vinyl edges.
Can you put van decals or wraps over the windows?
Yes, but there are legal restrictions. We use a special perforated material called "One-Way Vision" vinyl for the rear windows. This allows you to display a full-colour graphic on the outside while the driver maintains clear visibility from the inside. However, UK law prohibits applying any opaque wraps or tints to the front windscreen or the front driver and passenger side windows.
Are magnetic van signs a good alternative to vinyl decals?
Magnetic signs are a great, budget-friendly option if you use your van for both business and personal use, or if you frequently change vehicles. However, for a permanent, professional look, adhesive vinyl decals are vastly superior. Vinyl cannot be stolen, won't blow off at motorway speeds, and looks seamlessly integrated into the van's design.
